Locally grown celebrates Georgia's iconic music scene. Join us as we dance to the sounds of big band names who have already made their mark to the smaller acts tearing up the clubs. You'll be reminded why we are one of the best music regions in the country!
Georgia-based BJ Wilbanks's authentic exploration of love and the pursuit of enlightenment has been referred to as “Back Porch Soul,” fusing the musical roots of Americana, Motown and Delta Blues into an intoxicating blend of Southern Rock.
BJ's solo work explores the intimate, raw, emotional feeling of the gospel, blues, and 70s rock he was raised on as a child. The BJ Wilbanks Band has opened for Drivin N Cryin and Mother's Finest, as well as the legendary Gladys Knight.
BJ’s gregarious personality is palpable on record, often channeling other charismatic musical personalities like Otis Redding, Sturgill Simpson and current retro revivalists like Leon Bridges.
AJ Ghent [j-ent] and His Singing Guitar construct a musical sound that can be heard howling from the church to the streets to the clubs. His style can be defined as fresh, nostalgic, electrifying and roots rock, -- fusing blues, funk, rock, and pop, mashing it into a genre he likes to call, NEO BLUES.
He has had a colorful career thus far playing and opening for such legendary acts like Zac Brown, The Allman Brothers Band, Derek Trucks, Robert Cray, and Gov’t Mule. He can be heard on various recordings with Zac Brown, Luther Dickinson, and featured on Zac Brown’s 2013 Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 alongside Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters). AJ’s band has had various formations, from a trio to a full-size live band with horns, playing small clubs to mid-large sized festivals and arenas; dazzling audiences everywhere.

Back to the 80s
Remember the floppy disks, Atari games, Jane Fonda workouts and the REAL MTV? We do! So grab your leg warmers and shoulder pads, because we are bringing the 80s back to Chamblee!
Barring the invention of time travel, Electric Avenue is, hands down, the most accurate and exciting 80’s Pop Tribute you’re going to find anywhere this side of 1988. A high-definition snapshot of an era when vintage synthesizers and drum machines were at the top of the food chain, a thing called Radio.
Having been invited to share stages from Los Angeles to Tampa, Bahamas to Jamaica, by the likes of Pat Benatar, Kid Rock, Bobby Kimball (Toto), Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, and at sea on the Walking Dead Cast Cruise, Kid Rocks ‘lucky 7th Annual’ Chillin The Most Cruise, The Pitbull Cruise and the Gronk Cruise with Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots). They were also bestowed the honor of being the final band to ever perform at Turner Field.
Electric Avenue delivers spot-on renditions of Tears for Fears, Wham!, Duran Duran, Simple Minds, Howard Jones, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Level 42, Naked Eyes, Soft Cell, Kenny Loggins, INXS, Prince, The Clash, OMD, David Bowie and more.

“Upbeat positivity is a Wes constant, in his music and his attitude", said Rolling Stone Magazine of the blue-eyed songsmith. Georgia Music Magazine said that "(Wesley) may just be the next big thing" in a recent publication and he was recently dubbed “Best Atlanta Singer-Songwriter” of 2014 by Jezebel Magazine. Long before these accolades, Wesley Cook was raised in places like small villages in the former West Germany and a city in South Korea where he learned from an early age the many things that all people share beyond language and culture. As a songwriter, listeners are sure to hear the familiar world and rhythmic influences of Dave Matthews, Paul Simon and Jason Mraz among others, although he captures a sound that is very much his own. "He's one of those artists that is very tough to classify… again, that's fine with him…." said Billboard.com. As a front man, his high-energy showmanship and down-to-earth charm makes it impossible for the crowd not to love him. Wesley has shared the stage with artists such as Zac Brown, Sublime, Rachel Platten, A Great Big World, Tonic, Santigold, Edwin McCain, Manchester Orchestra, Marc Broussard, Ben Rector, Angie Aparo, Drivin'n'Cryin and more.

Topping the Charts
Come sing along to the songs you've had on heavy rotation and dance to the music that has topped the charts! We are wrapping up the summer with a national band that is guaranteed to make this a summer to remember.
Originating from Gainesville, FL, Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent has been called "one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years" by Performing Songwriter Magazine. Song "All for You," topped the adult alternative charts during the summer of 1997 and the success propelled their album to platinum status.
In their first showing on the country music charts they made a strong debut with “Lighter In The Dark” at #4 onBillboard’s Top Country Albums chart, #6 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart, #30 onBillboard's Top Current Albums chart and #79 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The band landed on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart again in 2016 with “Unplugged From Daryl's House Club” at #75. In February 2018, “Water,” Volume I of a collectible compilation series titled, “Elements,” landed on the Billboard Country Albums chart at #9 and at #2 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart along with making their debut on the most revered stage in country music, the Grand Ole Opry.
Living up to their fan-centered reputation, the band was a pioneer in the themed cruise industry by co-founding "The Rock Boat" and annually hosts events like the “Hazelnut Hang,” and "Camp Hazelnut" that focuses on creating unique experiences and interacting with the fans. Sister Hazel has been equally attentive to connecting with their audience through social media having amassed over a million social followers. In addition to the events and touring, the band also gives back with “Lyrics For Life.” Founded by singer Ken Block, the charity unites musicians and celebrities for concerts and auctions to benefit cancer research and patient-care charities.
Fastball - Tony & Miles
With nearly 20 years of musical explorations and milestones under its belt, Fastball remains one of the most consistent and continuously celebrated rock bands on the road these days. After rising to prominence in 1996 with the debut disc Make Your Mama Proud, the Austin, Texas-based trio exploded into a household name come 1998’s breakthrough project All the Pain Money Can Buy, joining the likes of fellow artfully spun acts like The Wallflowers, Matthew Sweet, The Jayhawks, Cracker and the Ryan Adams-fronted Whiskeytown on the charts.
"It was just circumstance," Tony Scalzo says of the eight-year recording gap that preceded the new Fastball album, Step Into Light. "We've always been active, and we've never really gone a year without doing a bunch of Fastball shows. But things are really picking up now, and things are rolling like crazy."
The 12-song Step Into Light, on the band's own 33 1/3 label, embodies all of the qualities that have endeared Fastball to listeners during the trio's twenty-year-plus career. Such catchy, compelling new tunes as "We're On Our Way," "Behind The Sun," "Best Friend," "Love Comes In Waves" and "I Will Never Let You Down" continue the band's longstanding legacy of infectious songcraft and pointed lyrics, as well as playfully inventive arrangements that lend additional depth and resonance to Scalzo and Miles Zuniga's distinctive songwriting.
The resulting album extends and expands Fastball's widely-loved body of work, which encompasses such acclaimed albums as the band's 1996 debut Make Your Mama Proud, their 1998 platinum breakthrough All the Pain Money Can Buy (which spawned the Grammy-nominated Top Five hit "The Way"), 2000's The Harsh Light of Day, 2004's Keep Your Wig On and 2009's Little White Lies.
“I think we’ve grown into a really good rock n’ roll band that’s way better than we’ve ever been,” reinforces Zuniga. “I think of myself as a lifer, a journeymen, who really enjoys the whole process. We have an audience that’s stuck with us the whole time and playing shows never feels like work because it’s a ton of fun. We know people want to hear the hits and we definitely have those in there, but we try to play something off every record, have some improvisational moments without turning into a jam band, and half the time, I start calling out the set list as we go. It all depends on the night and the barometric pressure of the audience.”
